  • Employment Offer: Have a prearranged full-time or part-time job with a U.S. employer (self-employment is not permitted).

    Duration and Renewal of TN Visa

    • Initial Period: Up to three years.

    • Renewal: The TN visa can be renewed indefinitely in three-year increments, provided the individual continues to meet the eligibility criteria.

    Dependents of TN Visa Holders

    Spouses and unmarried children under 21 may be eligible for TD (Trade Dependent) status, allowing them to accompany the TN visa holder to the U.S. While TD visa holders cannot work, they may study in the United States.
